Sosyal bilgiler öğretmenliği ve fen bilgisi öğretmenliği programlarında öğrenim gören öğretmen adaylarının teknolojiye yönelik algılarının belirlenmesi ve karşılaştırılması

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretmenliği ve Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliği Programlarında öğrenim gören öğretmen adaylarının teknolojiye yönelik algılarını metafor analizi yöntemiyle tespit etmek ve karşılaştırmaktır. Bu çalışmanın yöntemi Betimsel araştırma yöntemidir. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak anket kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklemini Türkiye’deki üç farklı üniversitenin (Pamukkale Üniversitesi, Adnan Menderes Üniversitesi ve Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart Üniversitesi) eğitim fakültelerinde öğrenim gören toplam 240 öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Öğretmen adaylarına uygulanan anket iki bölümden oluşmaktadır. Anketin birinci bölümü kişisel özelliklerini, ikinci bölüm ise metaforlarını ortaya çıkarmak için hazırlanmış cümle tamamlamaları oluşturmaktadır. Örneğin “Teknoloji ...’dır, çünkü …” gibi. Verilerin analizi ve yorumlanmasında Gök ve Erdoğan (2010)’un kullandığı süreç kullanılmıştır. Bunlar (i) Metaforların tanımlanması, (ii) Metaforların sınıflandırılması, (iii) Kategorilerin belirlenmesi, (iv) Geçerlik ve Güvenirlik sağlanmasıdır. Çalışmada metafor kategorileri araştırmacılar tarafından belirlenmiş ve güvenirlik analizi yapılmıştır. Veriler incelendiğinde her iki anabilim dalındaki öğretmen adaylarının teknoloji algılarının kısıtlı ve daha çok ürün ve günlük kullanıma yönelik olduğu ortay çıkmıştır. Ancak öğretim teknolojileri boyutunda algılamalara pek rastlanılmamıştır.

Purpose of the Study: This study was carried out to investigate and to compare student teachers’ conceptions of technology at Science Education Department and Department of Social Studies Education with metaphor analysis. This study is a descriptive research metod. The data is gathered using qualitative research methods. The sample included 240 student teachers who were studying Three different universities ( Pamukkale University, Adnan Menderes University, and Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University) from Turkey at Teacher Education Program of Faculty of Education. A questionnaire form was prepared in order to elicit information about the perception of teacher candidates for the concept of technology. In the first section of the form, they were asked to provide personal information, while they were asked to complete the sentence “Technology is like … , because … ” in the second section of the form. The analysis and interpretation process of the metaphors created by the teacher candidates in the sample consisted of the process was used by Gök and Erdoğan (2010) and as follows: 1) defining the metaphors 2) classifying the metaphors 3) developing categories 4) ensuring validity and reliability. In this study the metaphor categories are created individually by the researchers and then compared with each other for the reliability of the analysis process. Overall, the results suggest that student teachers’ conception of technology is restricted and mostly focuses on artifact and technical dimensions. Unfortunately, none of them created a metaphor including learning or teaching technologies
