Zaman–Frekans analizi (ZFA) bir sistemden en fazla bilgiyi alabilmek amacıyla geliştirilmiş yöntemler bütünüdür. Fourier Ayrıştırma Yöntemi (FAY) ise doğrusal olmayan ve zamanla değişen fiziksel sistemlerden alınan işaretlerin ZFA’ları için geliştirilmiş, en güncel, uyarlanabilir, veri odaklı analiz aracıdır. Bu yöntem herhangi bir işareti, sıfır fazlı ideal bant geçiren süzgeçler aracılığıyla, pozitif anlık frekanslara sahip, sıfır ortalamalı ortogonal fonksiyonlara ayrıştırarak, ilgili işaretin bu fonksiyonlarla birebir temsil edilebilmesine imkân sağlamaktadır. Fakat ideal süzgeçlerin kullanılmasının bir sonucu olarak FAY, kesişen anlık frekanslara sahip bileşenlerden oluşan işaretlerin ayrıştırılması için uygun değildir. Bu tür işaretlerin FAY ile analizi neticesinde bileşenlerin kesişim noktalarında zaman veya frekans bilgisinin net okunamadığı dağılımlar ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, bu soruna bir çözüm bulmak amacıyla FAY’ın genelleştirilmiş bir biçimine karşı düşen ve İç İçe Geçmiş Fourier Ayrıştırma Yöntemi (İGFAY) olarak adlandırılan bir yöntem önerilmiştir. Önerilen yöntem çerçevesinde, doğal olarak ortaya çıkan sıfır fazlı ideal olmayan bant geçiren süzgeç (SF-İOBGS) karakteristikleri temelinde işaretin bileşenlerine ayrıştırılması için iki farklı yordam türetilmiştir. Bu yordamlardan ilki alçak frekanstan yüksek frekansa doğru tarama yaparken diğeri ise aksi yönde frekans taraması yaparak incelenen işareti farklı frekans bantlarına ayrıştırmaktadır. Ayrıştırılan bu frekans bantlarının her biri SF-İOBGS’leri tanımlamaktadır. Geliştirilen bu yordamların yapay ve gerçek sistemlerden alınan işaretlerin analizinde elde ettiği başarımlar ve sağladığı kazanımlar, bilgisayar benzetimleriyle gösterilmiştir. Aynı zamanda önerilen yöntemin biyomedikal işaretlerin analizinde elde ettiği sonuçlar hem nicel hem de nitel olarak incelenmiş, bu çalışma alanındaki potansiyeli ayrıntılı olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Önerilen İGFAY, veri odaklı uyarlanabilir bir ZFA aracı olup; çok bileşenli işaretlerin analizinde bilinen yöntemlere nazaran daha net zaman-frekans dağılımları sağlamaktadır. Bu durum Hilbert–Huang Dönüşümü, Değişken Kip Ayrıştırma ve FAY ile elde edilen zaman-frekans dağılımlarının karşılaştırılması ile doğrulanmıştır. Ayrıca önerilen yöntem Hilbert tabanlı yöntemlere nazaran kip karıştırma probleminden en az etkilenmekte ve FAY üzerinden geliştirildiği için herhangi bir parametre, pencere veya ara değerleme belirleme sorunlarına sahip değildir.
Time–Frequency Analysis (TFA) is the whole of methods developed for the aim of gathering the most information from a system. In this regard, the Fourier Decomposition Method (FDM) is an up-to-date, data-driven adaptive method developed for the TFA of signals from nonlinear and time-varying physical systems. This method decomposes a given signal into zero-mean orthogonal functions with positive instantaneous frequencies through zero-phase ideal bandpass filters, and enables the relevant signal to be represented exactly by these functions. However, because of using ideal filters, the FDM is not suitable for decomposing signals consisting of components with intersecting instantaneous frequencies. As a result of the analysis of such signals with the FDM, distributions where the time or frequency information cannot be read clearly arise at the intersection points of the components. In this thesis, in order to find a solution to this problem, a method called Interwoven Fourier Decomposition Method (IWFDM) which corresponds to a generalized form of FDM is proposed. In framework of the proposed method, two different procedures are derived to decompose the signal into its components based on the naturally occurring zerophase non-ideal band-pass filter (ZP-NIBPF) characteristics. While the first of these procedures is scanning from low frequency to high frequency, the other one decomposes the signal into different frequency bands by scanning frequency in the opposite direction. Each decomposed frequency band define the characteristics of ZP-NIBPFs. The performance of these procedures are demonstrated by computer simulations performed on synthetic and real signals. At the same time, the results of the proposed method in the analysis of biomedical signals are examined both quantitatively and qualitatively, and its potential in this area are evaluated in detail. The proposed IWFDM is an adaptive data-driven TFA tool; it provides clearer time-frequency distributions compared to available methods in the analysis of multicomponent signals. This situation is verified by comparing the timefrequency distributions obtained by Hilbert-Huang Transform, Variable Mode Decomposition and FDM. In addition, the proposed method is less affected by the mode-mixing problem rather than the Hilbert-based methods; and since it is developed based on FDM, it does not have any parameter, window or interpolation determination problems.
